Why you should NOT vote for Theresa May

The UK general election is coming up on the 8th of June so I decided to make this post. If I miss anything out, please inform me so that I can add it.

She isn’t supportive of the LGBTQ+ Community


She voted against reducing
the age of consent for homosexual acts from eighteen to sixteen bringing
equality to the the law affecting heterosexual and homosexual acts.

She voted for prohibition on promotion of homosexuality.

She voted against same-sex adoption.


She voted in favour of a bill which said IVF rights should require a
male model – which effectively discriminated against lesbian fertility
rights.


She didn’t attend Parliament for any of the four votes that led to the gender recognition bill in 2004

– which before Civil Partnership would allow a marriage
to remain valid if one partner goes through gender reassignment
treatment.

Women’s issues

She voted in favour of changing the abortion limit from 24 weeks to 20
weeks.

She voted against requiring an annual report from the Equalities and Human
Rights Commission analysing information on the gender pay gap and making
recommendations to close it.


She thinks there are ‘boy jobs and girl jobs’ at home.


She voted against the Sex Discrimination (Election Candidates) Bill.

Environmental Issues

Generally voted against measures to prevent climate change.

Generally voted against greater regulation of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to extract shale gas.

She prioritises the wealthy 

She voted in favour of the bedroom tax on the poor.

She generally voted for lowering the tax rate applied to income over £150,000.

She voted against proposals to reduce tax avoidance and evasion.

She voted against building 100,000 affordable homes in 2013.

She voted against those who have
been ill or disabled since their youth recieving Employment and Support
Allowance on the same basis as if they had made sufficient National
Insurance contributions to qualify for a contribution based allowance.
           

She voted against the mansion tax on the wealthy.
