I remember dealing with exclusionary LG’s and they basically said the same thing. They were kicking out “confused straight people”.
And even once that was over I remember similar arguments about how trans people don’t belong because it’s not a sexuality.
The LGBT is a constructed group, and you don’t have to believe that ace people belong, but this argument is classic essentialism and every time I hear it I’m reminded that the only reason it’s not applied to me is because the bi and trans communities won those arguments.

Another bi person here saying aphobia is recycled biphobia and I also get silenced/mocked any time I try and share my experiences and compare them to what’s going on. Like you do you but the majority of bi people are making these comparisons themselves and don’t feel “used”
Another bi person here to point out that both times the argument was that they couldnt be a part of the community because they experienced too much “straight privelege”
Pan person here, they can stop “lumping us in” and making valid comparisons to arguments used against us when you stop excluding aces (who deserve to be in the community just like we do) the way bi/pan exclusionists do
