I’m so furious I never knew that the fbi played that huge of a part in Malcolm X’s assassination. It’s taught with an air of ‘well he was killed by His Own sooo’

In my history class at university, we watched a documentary on the Black Panthers (The Black Panthers- Vanguard of the Revolution; PBS,2015). All this shit about the FBI surveillance was in there, and I was so livid that it was a thing at all.

The shooting at Fred Hamptons apartment was when serious shit started to go down. The way the police shot into the apartment made it obvious they already knew the floor plan; they concerntrated fire through the wall into the bedroom. They only way they could have known where the bedroom was is if they knew the floor plan beforehand. The black panthers figured out that the FBI was watching them, and it caused a huge divide; some of them were more careful, some of them said “fuck it” and became more violent and brash. That divide, plus more FBI interference, was the main reason for the fall of the black panther party. That, and the fact that Fred Hampton was the voice of practicality between the three founders and Malcom X.

The FBI knew it was being shitty, because of their attempts to cover this up; but the thing that makes me the most angry is that since the 70’s, this conspiracy has been public knowledge. You can look this shit up online. But people would have you believe the BS version because it makes their beloved, land-of-the-free country look better.

Did we talk about this shit in my conservative ass high school history class? Hell no. Did we talk about the black panther party’s philanthropy, and the free breakfast program they ran in their cities (for children of all colors) that we now have in place at my hometown schools? Hell no.

All that we talked about? That they were violent and deserved what happened to them.
