They changed his name and he probably doesn’t speak any Spanish or know about his heritage. Horrific. 

ETA: They took him away from his mother because she “broke the law” by being a refugee but his white foster father has a criminal record and that’s just fiiiiine

(and before anybody comments, I understand that yes, being removed from the only home/family you can remember would absolutely be traumatising for a young child, but the point is it should have NEVER happened in the first place). 

Not trying to say that this isn’t a shitty occurrence, because this is fucking inhumane and just downright evil. But the state has been doing this shit for decades with indigenous American children as well.
