i mean i know this country is a shithole and when i say “nuke us” i’m not even half joking but when this happened in the usa it was ALL people (americans and non-americans alike) would talk about on the internet for months and we’d never hear the end of it

brazil is a huge fucking country with about 209 MILLIONS, the 4th BIGGEST DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD and the fact that most of the people around the world have no idea that a literal military, fascist, racist, misogynistic, lgbt-phobic won the elections yesterday says a lot. 

yeah i get it we are a shit 3rd world country you can’t just pretend this isn’t happening

brazil is one of the most violent countries for lgbt people. almost a third of brazilian women have been victims of different acts of violence related to gender. democracy in this country only began in 1985, and before that, we lived under a severe military dictatorship that murdered, tortured and kidnapped over at least 500 people, and possibly many more that to this day are not recognized.

and now this country has elected a man who praises all of the issues stated above, using as slogan “brazil above all, god above everyone”, which is hilarious because it sounds just like Deutschland über alles (i bet a penny you know where this comes from) smashed with a slogan from 1964 (you guessed it, the military dictatorship slogan!!) “brazil: love it or leave it”. also, he preys on the fear of a “communist menace” in brazil which honestly would be funny if peopole didn’t take his word for it and literally assaulted people on the streets for wearing red.  

“but this doesn’t sound that bad!!” uhm well let me show you what FUCKING FOX NEWS the right-wing journalism has to say about this radical right wing guy.

while several people, including roger waters, have acknowledged him as a neo-fascist and stated to despise his man and fear for democracy in this country, the kkk endorsed and praised his politics. they literally said this guy sounds like them.

this man made use of fake news to propell his propaganda and was accused of corruption (one of the things he based his entire propaganda on, promising he would end corruption in case he became president) 

does the name steve banon ring a bell to you? because yeah, these guys were pretty close. 

a lot of people who support and praise this man strongly defend that he is not the bad guy everyone paints him to be. the same people who attacked over 70 people who opposed their candidate and favored the other candidate running for president, a teacher. these supporters look at this man’s statements mentioned above and say the left is lying and that the now president elect doesn’t mean it (while some strongly defend and stand by what he said), but anyone with half a wit knows that backtracking and having a sudden change of heart from night to day can’t be a serious or honest change of point of view when you’ve been defending violence for all your life. 

i honestly could go on and on but i’m TIRED, FED UP, and DESPERATE because i know that the opposition i’m part of will soon be swept off the map. this man has declared that the opposition could either leave the country or go to prison.
