“my parents were more abusive to me than I am to you therefore what I am doing is fine” is a real thing parents tell the children they abuse and theirselves. especially when parents like this are immigrants and the mindset they have comes from whatever environment they had, all of the people their age that surround them enable them because they agree. so all of these old people stay on these high horses while all of their children are traumatized and suffering to succeed. and when the children get older and are able to get out from under their parents’ thumb, the parents will spend the rest of their years badmouthing their children and deadass die alone thinking they did everything they were supposed to do as parents simply because they can come up with examples of parents worse than them. but like go awf if that’s your prerogative as a parent and you want to alienate yourself from your kids whom, if they were raised with actual love and understanding, would’ve done everything for you and cherished you
If memory serves, what happened was that someone took a video of a Ukrainian military band playing some other song and dubbed a realistic-sounding version of A Cruel Angel’s Thesis over it. This proceeded to be everywhere on the internet, enough so that the band that put on the original performance caught wind of it, and decided to capitalize on its popularity by actually performing the song. This video is the latter version.
