Guys, I know this is scary and you’re probably all very angry about the AHCA vote. That’s justified – your reps failed you. But this is not over yet.
1) Call your Senators and tell them to vote no. You have to flip three. After how many GOP reps you flipped last time? That should be no sweat. I have faith in you! You can do this! Remind them this ups premiums, kills out of pocket caps for employers, employers and states can opt out of collective rates and go back to individual rates (which negatively impacts the disabled and those with pre-existing conditions), and the money ‘earmarked’ for those with said conditions doesn’t actually need to go to them. 30 000 people with pre-existing conditions and possibly as many as 20 million thrown off healthcare. 2) Call your reps – if they voted no, thank them. If they voted yes, tell them how angry and disappointed you are in them and that they have likely lost your vote come 2018. ESPECIALLY if they’re moderates or better yet, a blue state Republican. For those without a rep at the moment, contact the party majority leader.

3) Tell both of your senators and your rep to speak out against this religious freedom EO nonsense. People have no right to deny public, medical, or emergency services. Stop normalizing discrimination to LGBTQIAPN+ people and people who have a uterus.
4) For the love of GOD, people, reblog posts telling people to call. Likes are very nice, and make me very happy, but only reblogs spread the word. Tell other people to call. Post on other social media, tell your friends, post on other online communities if people are worried.
5) Phone anxiety? I understand. You can also email, fax, or send a letter or postcard. Include your full address, including ZIP code, or your message will be junked. And never ever EVER call a rep that is not your own. Staffers are not stupid, they can tell you don’t live there. Also, you’re clogging the line for their actual constituents and it gives the GOP ammo to dismiss their constituents as not really theirs. Never ever ever do this or I will haunt you. Also, important: Social media is useless at the federal level – no way to verify you’re their constituent and too much of it. Call, fax, email, or write. 5calls.org and itstimetofight.weebly.com both offer email and call scripts! https://faxzero.com will let you fax for free, AND they’ll help you find your congressperson or senator if you don’t know who they are. Note, 5calls does require your ZIP code to help you find your specific electeds. No worries, you can find that out by typing your address into google maps! Easy peasy.
